Emailler avec une pince dans un seau
ooak_creation Blue is not a colour you’ll often find in my work. In oxidised pottery, blue usually comes from cobalt. But the blue appearing in my work is scarce and feels particularly precious, as it is not due to cobalt but usually a reaction between clay, iron, wood-ashes and titanium.
Cobalt is quite a controversial ingredient for various reasons. It’s a shame because the beautiful place I visited today made me fall in love with blue again. More on this in a different post.
The base glaze is what gives your glaze its texture, finish, and overall feel. Once you’ve mixed a good base, you can create variations just by adjusting the colourants:
Want to soften that bright turquoise? Reduce the copper carbonate.
Aiming for navy instead? Swap the copper for cobalt.
Dreaming of a teal colour in between green and blue? Combine copper and cobalt together
Pour faire passer cet email blanc opaque à un émail turquoise opaque,
on ajoute du Copper carbonate ou du Carbonate de cuivre.
